    Hi.all
If purchased a ch bull for the first time.- always ai before. I have him 3 weeks and I only saw him rising on a cow once
I watch them 3 times a day but I haven't seen the cows bullling either apart from that 1 time
He's 2 yo seems in good form but doesn't seem to be the randiest!!
I have 17 cows with him
Am I over thinking the situation

I wouldn't panic yet. We bought a BB bull a few years ago. Only left him with the cows for about 14 days as we never saw him rise and there were bulling cows in the field! In the 14 days he covered about 10-12 cows. Just turned out he didn't like an audience!!!!

Luckily we hadn't got rid of him and he dropped some nice off-spring the following years!

BB is a very different animal to charolais though

Sounds about normal. Some are active others tip away without any great fanfare.
Record any you think are bulling and any you do happen to see him covering and watch them for repeats.

How long are the cows calved OP? If they are calved more than 6 weeks, you expect to see a lot of action by now.

You'll know next month if you've a problem
I would be concerned as I have found less calves from quiet bulls previously

Ch bull here out of 52 very rarely see him bulling a cow, just prefers a bit of privacy I suppose!! Young Angus bull is a different story he's mad for action and easily spotted.

Some could be only starting to come now.
You haven't seen him bulling, but you haven't seen him miss either, so don't panic. Continue doing what you're at, maybe introduce an aid (paint/patch etc) & record.
If you're still doubting in a few weeks, get him tested.

Don't panic, I only saw the bull jump on one last year. I spotted a few with their tail in a twist. Same this year. He dosnt run around after them all day, just gets the job done and tipps on for the day!

You could milk preg test a few of the cows, picks up from 28 days to give you some peace of mind...

Sorry JD I am not much of a multitasker!

Progressive do it, started doing it last year, we've used it on a few dairy cows through Milk recording, but I know a few beef men with smaller numbers used it too and found it very useful, link here:
