Have to say whilst I am pretty much set on a GTX 1070, I am waiting to see what AMD provide. Nvidia look to be setting a pretty high price and as someone who will remain at 1080p I'm not sure about the outlay on a 1070. I've somewhat justified it to myself as not getting an Ipad air 2 I had planned, and getting a new GPU instead.

I'll wait for benchmarks and see the pricing on third party releases, but I think there was a few leaked benchs of this upcoming series from AMD, that looked pretty ok. Not at 1070/1080 levels, but looked an improvement.

I'm on a R9 290 at the moment, and this will likely be the last GPU upgrade I do for 1080p.(Am moving to 144hz alongside this GPU purchase)

    Exciting summer ahead :)

It's not close to 980ti levels, it's close to 980 levels.

It's also $200 for the 4gb model and will have a premium for the 8gb model. $260 I believe.

It's looking to be a good card for the non enthusiast market. I really wish they announced their higher tier card though. Vega will be around in a few months. Interested in seeing that but for now it's a 1080 for me.

I appreciate the symmetry of your thread title.

This is a price I could justify. I currently have a 6870 and have been thinking of upgrading for a while since I can't play games like Rise of the Tomb Raider or a lot of modern games. Won't be going over 1080p anyway

Currently looking to upgrade my MSI 6950 and looking for card around the €200 mark. This could tick all the boxes.
Its been a great card and served me well, its still plays alot of new titles at medium settings but is starting to feel the strain

The benchmark they showed in the presentation was pretty strange, but at this price, I'm definitely looking forward to proper reviews.

    I hope there is a 490 coming.

490 is most likely Vega which probably won't launch until October. Polaris 11 is next which is most likely a mobile version of the 480.

I'll probably hold out until the 490 releases, currently on a 290 and can wait. It's a shame that Nvidia has a monopoly on the high end but AMD should claw back a huge share of the market considering the enthusiast range of cards only take up a tiny fraction of the market. Things should get a lot more competitive in a few months.

Still though, if Vega is based on the same architecture as Polaris, AMD looks to have a winner. Fury speeds for $200 dollars is a game changer for mid tier GPU's.

And looks like my card decided to quit on me last night, so the sooner this one is out, the better for me
