Is there some trick to buying/eating blueberries that I'm missing? Every time I buy a punnet I eat one that's beautiful, juicy and full of flavour. The I eat the next one and I'm struggling to control my face cos it's so sour! Is there a certain ripeness, hue or variety I should be looking out for?

It's because they're not in season. Picked when raw and ripened artificially after shipping without sun, hence the lack of sweetness. For more info on eating what's at it's best go here http://www.bestinseason.ie/whats-in-season/
