Make small goals and strive to achieve them.

Don't buy crap food and/or alcohol.

    Love Jesus.

    Repeat.

Distraction works for me. Do this for a half hour or so and you've passed your weakest point.

Rake of pints and a pizza usually replenishes the tank for about 18 hours, I find

I agree with the small goals and if the food/drink is not in the house you can't have it.
Maybe join a group, that can help support you.
    Good luck :)

Willpower by Roy Baumeister and John Tierney is a terrific book.

As for an immediate kick in the arse, just realise that fat cells can shrink, but they're in your body until you die unless you get liposuction or other surgery. Therefore the longer you put off the diet and eat like a slob, the harder it'll be to lose the fat and the easier it'll be to put back on that fat.

Whatever changes in your diet or whatever, make it sustainable. There is no point in starving yourself of something you enjoy and end up being miserable about it. Plan your meals a few days out, tupperware will become your friend. :)

I thought the OP was gonna be about a legless Irish man swimming in the sea.

Is not the group classification of pints a "feed" of pints? :D

I have no advice for you OP but I do have solidarity. What I wouldn't give right now for pizza or chips or a burger. Eeeeek. The desire is strong. I will resist because I'll only feel like crap in the morning, physically and emotionally.
