So there i was out for a sunny spin yesterday when the back wheel locked solid and i skidded to a stop, it took me a minute to figure out why the wheel would not turn and it turned out that the road had being tarred and chipped in a few places, and one of those chips which was covered with tar had adhered to my back tyre and got jammed between the tyre and the brake calipers and gouged a groove all the way around the tyre, tyres ok but i will get a few months less out of it id say and was lucky it was the back tyre and not the front, so watch out for the fresh tar out there
