Comparing interior space

Where can I find details on the actual space inside a car? Boot litres and overall length are easily available but don't tell the full story.

Mrs has a qashqai and we need something with more interior space so we can move the front seats back a reasonable amount - rear facing baby seat is in the back. Would like to compare the Tuscan, X3 & Q5 without traipsing around the garages with a measuring tape!

    I think WhatCar does this.

Maybe look at changing the car seat instead.

Don't see anything extra on WhatCar website. The new carseat cost the price of a small car so it's definitely staying! Need more boot space too so it's time for a change.

Good descriptions there but no hard facts/measurements.

i really think you need to be looking a size up rather than at direct qashqai rivals.

    Try AutoCar.co.uk

Also check ot the new Kia Sportage I have been in the new one and it is very roomy.
If you want something bigger maybe a Ford S-Max could be worth a look and they can be got with 4wheel drive now too if you want that as well.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I though the likes of the Q5 would be a size up, maybe not?

far as I know a q5 is a bit longer but still not massive.

    this may be of use

an x trail might fit the bill. Nissan doing trade in bonuses at the moment too. not sure if the middle row seas slide back more than the QQ.
there's nothing to touch the x trail for the money.

that said the 2 seas Rob boot space.

Carzone used to have loads of dimension info for vehicles under the new car tab, but I've just checked a couple (X-Trail & Tucson) and it's no longer there. Was very handy for this sort of question:

Digging deep in to our system, the same info Carzone used to have is there:

    Tucson
Internal dimensions: front headroom (mm): 1,005, front headroom (inches): 39.6, rear headroom (mm): 995, rear headroom (inches): 39.2, front hip room (mm): 1,413, front hip room (inches): 55.6, rear hip room (mm): 1,384, rear hip room (inches): 54.5, front leg room (mm): 1,129, front leg room (inches): 44.4, rear leg room (mm): 970, rear leg room (inches): 38.2, front shoulder room (mm): 1,450, front shoulder room (inches): 57.1, rear shoulder room (mm): 1,410 and rear shoulder room (inches): 55.5

    Q5
Internal dimensions: front headroom (mm): 1,043, front headroom (inches): 41.1, rear headroom (mm): 990, rear headroom (inches): 39.0, front hip room (mm): 1,527, front hip room (inches): 60.1, rear hip room (mm): 1,494, rear hip room (inches): 58.8, front shoulder room (mm): 1,465, front shoulder room (inches): 57.7, rear shoulder room (mm): 1,432 and rear shoulder room (inches): 56.4

X-Trail info is missing for internal dimensions :-(

    Mazda CX5
Internal dimensions: front headroom (mm): 1,018, front headroom (inches): 40.1, rear headroom (mm): 991, rear headroom (inches): 39.0, front hip room (mm): 1,402, front hip room (inches): 55.2, rear hip room (mm): 1,363, rear hip room (inches): 53.7, front leg room (mm): 1,041, front leg room (inches): 41.0, rear leg room (mm): 997, rear leg room (inches): 39.3, front shoulder room (mm): 1,460, front shoulder room (inches): 57.5, rear shoulder room (mm): 1,410 and rear shoulder room (inches): 55.5

I always found Parkers to be a decent website.

For example, HERE is the summary review of a Qashqai. Click into "Comfort" and it shows the comfort, practicality, boot space etc. there.
