Wireless speakers- looking for room filling audio

    Hi,

Bluetooth wireless speakers- the bees knees. BUT I find that I miss surround sound. Granted I'm using a Ruark r1 mk3 speaker in my bedroom, it's not a so called '360 degree' audio speaker (tube shaped speaker that has drivers facing every direction).

I'm looking at buying another speaker or two- to use in the kitchen/garden/travelling etc. I know that some bluetooth speakers can be paired up (Bose, Marsboy and others).
    1. From ones that can be paired up are there any that you'd recommend? Budget- not sure but interested in a few options, under €500 total anyway, ideally a lot cheaper.

    2. How good at room filling are 360 degree audio speakers, the links of Sonos etc?

    Thanks,
    pa.

First suggestion is probably to look at WiFi speakers rather than Bluetooth. From what I have seen, Sonos are really the best but even they have limitations on what they can play.

Take a look at Chromecast Audio too - can plug one into (almost) any existing speakers or amp.

Thanks, I don't mind if it's wifi or Bluetooth- open to either.

I'm looking for something mobile so I can bring it on hols, use in back garden so need wireless & built in battery so chromecast isn't an option.

didn't mention in my original post but if anyone uses two wireless speakers how does the sound compare to just one v. good speaker (e.g. Sonos)

For portable it is only really Bluetooth, or something with Bluetooth and Wifi like some Sony / LG options.

I think it is a case of if you want a portable speaker or a better sounding one to use inside at home.

Not all wireless speakers can be paired to create a stereo pair (as Sonos can). With two Bluetooth speakers you'd want to make sure that they can be paired with the same device at the same time (never easy) - and even then they might just play the same sound from each
