parts must be sourced in halfords to qualify for the free labour. that's a sizable enough caveat?

I bought a new bike with halfords in January, now i was capable of putting the bike together myself but when the service was being offered for free i said why not save myself the time

Took the bike around the shop and all the brakes and gears werent properly adjusted so they "sorted" that for me.
Took the bike home and realised that they only readjusted the back brakes / gears and not the front so i had to adjust them. Finally got to take it for a spin and after 5mins the handlebars were completely loose.

To say i wouldent recommend any halfords services would be a understatement!
All that said.. Great bike at a great price!

I remember buying a kids bike from Halfords and insisting that I was given one still in the box (ie. disassembled) from the storeroom rather than have them put it together for me. They were puzzled but ceded to my request in the end.

Most of the halford's stores only have the one fellow who knows what they are at, so if you don't get them to fix your stuff, you're going to get seriously variable quality work.

Funny enough I read advice exactly like that however i said to myself well even if they do a bad job the bulk of the work would be done only to fix certain things. And i wouldent have a giant cardboard box to dispose of.

Honestly was absolutely shocked at the quality of the work.
Was talking to the guy who assembled it. he seemed a keen cyclist himself and talked about his own bikes and alterations he did to them so it struck me that he was 100% capable of doing a good job but be couldent be arsed to.

Now i dident mind too much but there are people out there that wouldent have a clue how to assemble a bike or have the tools to do it, so they end up walking out of the shop with a searously dangerous bike. All because the young fella in the shop cba. Seems crazy to me
