Currently have site with planning and submitted change of house plans but council have requested me to carry out flood risk assessment by a hydrologist.
Can anyone tell me the rough cost for carrying out such a study or recommend anyone in the galway area to do so. There is a small stream to the edge of the site but it has never flooded in the past. Council seem to be requesting this on quite lot of requests now following on from last winters floods.

Hey, I had to get a flood risk assessment done too as part of my planning My engineer had to get another civil engineer to do up the report while he took all the levels.

    Total including VAT was 600e.

    O and I'm in Mayo.

Depends on whats involved, what info is available from OPW etc, scale and nature of the watercourse(s). Also depends what comfort you want or how robust you need it to be as a means of evidence (in terms of future insurability / mortgageability - as OPW CFRAMS info comes out insurers will be using this to adjust premiums etc unless govt. intervenes) - in my professional experience €600 isn't buying you much more than a back of a fag packet calculation, though am happy to be proven wrong.
