I have had windows installed and I have been told they are triple glazed and laminated. Can this be true? And how can I check?

The lamination is a height related issue, the 3G should be visible to the eye.

As you obviously don't trust the paperwork, to check, get a pair of goggles, gloves and an icepick
The lamination will be obvious for the way it breaks
.....and then how will you check the replacement.

Once you are provided with a certificate from a glass manufacture you should be fine, however if you are not satisfied there are two devices available for measuring glass, one will measure thickness and the other will measure coatings and laminates. I can think of the name of these devices off hand, however if you contact one of the large glass manufacture they might point you in the right direction.

There is a laser gague that will show the cross section of glazing. Your talking a couple of hundred quid though. I have one, if you want to hire me I'll tell ya ;)

Easiest way would be to take out a triple glazed unit and you'll see the make up of the triple glazing
