Can a landlord conceal his address from the tenant?

If you look at the threshold website, seemingly not: (can't provide link because am new)

But I'm aware of a situation where the landlord doesn't provide his own address, but rather that of the building which comprises different flats and apartments.

Who enforces this stuff? I looked at dublincity.ie ant the part called private-rented-housing-environmental-health but as usual it's not covered there.

Anyone know if it's a rule or just a loose "best practice" guideline for landlords to give their actual addresses?

Is it your landlord? If not, why are you getting involved? A landlord is required to provide an address to their tenant and the landlord lives at that building address, it's not strictly legal but chances are that if a letter was sent to the building address it would reach the landlord.

If the hypothetical landlord were tempted to do a runner, or evade being served with a warrant, not providing an address might slow the authorities down.

When registering the tenancy with prtb landlord is required to give an address or it could be that of agent if agent involved. Nothing wrong with wanting to maintain privacy/ security of their private family home. Different if they have a business address.

The LL doesnt need to go to an effort to slow things down. DCC and the PRTB are already super slow. They would have the LL's details from paying NPPR and LPT as the LL's PPS no was required for it

If you arent happy with your rental accommodation. My suggestion is move out. DCC and the PRTB will take an age to resolve any issue. When there are tens of thousands of people living in seriously dodgy housing. A tenant not happy with the speed of an extractor fan being replaced is the least of their priorities.

Contact the Local Authority's housing/building standards section for enforcement if a landlord does no provide their address.
