Sink disposal unit

Can these be used with septic tank systems? I know a certain/small amount will already be going into the septic tank from the sink and dish washer. Would an increased amount cause issues with rats? Tank needing emptying much more often? Curious because of the pay by weight rubbish collection coming in.

The material will increase the BOD big time Biochemical oxygen demand and you run the risk, especially with a dishwasher into it, of the unit going anaerobic which will mean you will need to have it pumped out every often, so you need to do the math: x bins at y euro = one tank pump-out.
Plus some of it will not actual break down: e.g. chicken and other bones, adding to more sludge

Food waste can go in the brown bin and non-food waste such as veg peelings etc can be composted if that fits with your ecological footprint.
You can easily make a rat proof compost bin if your output is more than the plastic readymade ones.
Best have two, one processing down while other is filling
