Would I be right in saying that a porous hose from the tank to the carburettor would cause the petroltank to empty completely. The hose is well porous now and I reckon the petrol just siphoned out. Full tank emptied over a week or so.

Update - well I changed out the hose. Huge improvement. Saw starting no problem now. Kinda mad I didn't notice it earlier. Would have saved me a lot of hassle messing around with the carburettor, thinking it needed tuning.
