    Hi lads,

Picked up a beauty of a TT 225 over the weekend :)

ABS and Traction Control (ESP) lights are on.

I was initially thinking that it's more than likely an ABS sensor but I just scanned it using a basic OBDII scanner and there are no faults registering?

Shouldn't an ABS sensor register a fault code??

Could it be anything else do you think?

    Thanks!

I have the same problem with my E39, common problem on it though, mine registers no faults on my diagnostics either, your module could be faulty, I believe they have a similar Bosch unit!

Check the brake lights. Faulty switch causes these errors. Might even be only occasional fault

Checked the brake lights and all work fine!

I wonder if a proper VAGCOM scan would show anything?

If its anything like some others makes, Volvo for example, certain faults wont show up on generic readers and need dealer level diagnostics to show and clear.

Just found out by googling thats this could be a few different things and will need a Vag Com scan.

"Unfortunately this will need a vag-com scan to locate the fault. It will normally be a sensor either abs wheel speed, lat or long accelleration sensor or similar, or it could be a haldex or abs controller "

Is there anyone around D15 or nearby with a scanner that could help me out with a scan? :o

On Mercs it's usually the brake light switch, it's a double switch so brake lights will work normally but you'll have warning lights. Find someone with a proper scanner as the Mercedes system diagnosed the switch on a 20 year old car

    Update:

    Scanned with VCDS

"ABS Wheel Speed Sensor, Rear Right"

Happy days, was worried it would be something Haldex related :)
