Hi Guys - I would greatly appreciate any advice for a problem I'm having with the hot water tap in my bath. My home was built in 2007. The problem is that when I turn on the hot water tap it will only run for about 10 or 15 seconds and then runs dry. It's very frustrating and inconvenient. Can anyone assist with some information as to what it might be and how I might fix it. Cheers.

The other taps are all ok - no problems with the other hot or cold ones. It's just the round, nob-type hot bath tap which is the problem. It was working fine until about a month ago and then it just stopped dispensing hot water after fifteen seconds or so. It can be turned on again after a few minutes and the same thing happens each time. I'

    Might be an airlock.
You could try connecting a short length of hose between the hot an dcold taps (flexible tubing like garden hose, with ubilee clips to secure) and then turn both taps on and leave run for a short time. The thinking is that the cold water will force its way back through the hot system pipes and clear any airlocks. Look at Youtube (get rid of the spaces as I can't insert a link) https :// www. youtube . com / watch?v=22Y866AKGgs

It sounds like its either a bit of trapped air, or a blockage or obstruction of some sort. I have had to fish out pieces of insulation that had not been removed from inside the hot water tanks when someone had installed them and the pieces had lodged on a connection allowing only a small amount of water to pass.
It may possibly be an issue with the valve inside the tap.
I would use a water vacuum first to try to draw any air or obstruction out.
