Hi, I have a 2008 avensis petrol. Around 2 weeks ago I brought the car through the car wash. When driving home car started losing power for a few seconds and then was fine again. The car is slow to accelerate and does not cut out. There is no signs it is going to happen and can happen in any gear. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thank

OP, I've moved your thread to a forum where you might get a better answer.

Did you power wash the engine?
Are there any engine warning lights on?
Does it cut out at certain revs?
    When was it last serviced?

No I just washed the outside of the car. Water could have got in along the grill at the front.

No there is no warning lights.

No it doesn't cut out at all. Just loses acceleration.

I had the car serviced around 10k km. I have had it serviced just this week.

is the clutch slipping? does the rev counter go up and engine rev when accelerating instead?

Could be the throttle body i had an 04 with a similar issue and the mechanic cleaned it and was fine after.

Initially this sounds like a vaccuum problem. Probably just easiest to bring it to a local mechanic.
