Do you need a second language for a university with a plc

I remember last year in school we were told we had to have a second or even third language to get into a university I was exempt from Irish and decided not to do another language like French because I probably wouldnt have been able for it, but I want to know does the same thing apply for a plc student I cant imagine so…
