When you finish springboard, do u have to go into the welfare office to tell them ,or do they automatically know to take you off the springboard themselves. Thats wat I was told by other people on my course happens when the course finished, the welfare just does it. If u have to go into welfare office , do have to fill out a form and long does it take to be sorted out , being taken off springbaord ,and put back on the payment u where on before u joined the course. Any info wud be great

Didn't go in yet, but was onto someone else in the course today who said there was no problems getting back on it, just needed proof exams had finished!

    Hi All,

Yes, you must advise DSP that you have finished.

If you are in receipt of a jobseekers payment you must inform them of any change of circumstances.

Effectively, because jobseekers are still in receipt of a jobseekers payment while on springboard the know when your course finishes, but just because it's on the system does not automatically mean that individual DSP personnel 'know'.

Just be mindful that the DSP/case officer can engage with you and refer you for other things such as Jobpath or to other services to 'support' you back into employment.

Also remember that there is no automatic entitlement or progress directly onto the back to education allowance BTEA following springboard. Each case is treated on its own merits, subject to the review/decision of the case officer/DSP. Don't take permission/entitlement for granted!

    Regards

    Hey folks,

Sorry just realized yous have finished a course. Can I ask what yous did it in and where, and did you enjoy it?

I am looking at the skills conversion HDips in computing in Maynooth, DIT and UCD and wondering ifs you have done any of them. If so, is there any difference really? I read all the course structure and the module descriptions and they all seem fairly on par but regarding teaching, did you find it a good course in general wherever you may have done it?

    Thanks very much!

I haven't started but I picked NUI Maynooth for transportation/financial reasons . All the courses all seem to cover the same areas.

    Good luck
