Unfortunately I got hit with this on the F.I. for an agricultural building.
The proposed building is to be situated on the top of a field which is sloped downwards towards a water drain.
The drain is crossed by a farm access roadway.
Will it cost much to get this aspect sorted and is it a common service to be offered by Engineers?
    Any help appreciated, thanks.

Like anything prices can vary but if possible can you move the proposed shed out of the flood zone area, would be cheaper and obviously out of an area identified as being at risk of flooding.

The thing is the proposed shed is not in a flood zone area, it's the existing farm roadway that they are referring to.

Ah I see. Sounds like a fairly standard thing for a civil engineer, get three quotes. Others here can advice better re technical details. Good luck.

    Hi

I had to get one done as part of my planning permission. So frustrating as the river in question is approx 50m away and 15m below the proposed foundation level of the house.

My engineer had to get another engineer to do up the report at a cost of 600e incl VAT.
