Utv hd fine but no luck with the others. I'm in north Donegal so may be that.

According to the satellite footprint you should get a strong signal on all the transponders, even with a small dish.

    I have a 1.1 m dish. I get 15 dB on 11068 (UTV), 14.7 dB on 11053 (ITV Wales) and 16.4 on 11097 (ITV London).

I think there are certain older makes of Panasonic TVs, with built in Sat tuners, and Freesat boxes, having problems with the 3/4 FEC rate used on ITV HD.

That's according to a well known UK forum.

Also proper LNB Skew adjustment could help.

Yes, I have a 2011 Panasonic V20. That explains it. Utv hd and stv hd fine but ITV Hd not.

    Check this out.

It could become a bigger issue if more HD stations decided to change to a 3/4 FEC rate.

From a poster on that page ......
Once I reconnected the LNB, I experienced the instant effects on your 119 HD Wales.
Further messing about and changing Inputs/LNB leads showed that I had one LNB out of the quad that was good and two others that showed problem.
These LNB feeds all worked well with other equipment.

    I found that most interesting.
Accepting other information provided in that discussion, it appears that the problems arise in 'edge' cases where a combination of devices and installation can cause problems for some.

I also note that this problem might become more widespread for those experiencing it if this happens .....
So I phoned ITV who knew of the problem affecting 2008-2010 freesat boxes, but then they informed me that that they also will soon be changing the Irish and Scottish channels to use the same FEC as the rest of the UK.

I presume that once I've added the channels, I have to access them via Other Channels? i.e. I can't add them to Favourites on my Sky box.

    Correct?

    Thanks.

I've got an old sky plus box and a freeview box, both of these are only showing 22.0 or 27.5 as symbol rate. Is it not possible to get free to air hd channels?

If they're not HD-capable boxes, which seems to be the case, then no.

I would doubt they are, I thought maybe hd channels could be broadcast and picked up on a hd tv regardless of box. Not to worry. COYBIG
