    By all accounts these are rubbish for what they are designed and Users reckon to stick with dedicated HD 1080p as you will not benefit from 4K HD with the vast amount of viewing you would normally do.

    To be fair, Aldi TVs (or most TVs at this price/size combination) would be pretty much near the bottom of the food chain and the only way someone could compare one with anything else is by seeing one running, i.e. by buying one - specifications can only tell you so much. The main obvious difference between the two you've mentioned is that one(Aldi) is 4K and the JVC is full HD. If these were the only two TVs available to me, at this screen size I would choose a good implementation of full HD over poorly implemented 4K. You should be able to see the JVC running in a PCWorld store somewhere, you can see what reports there are about the Aldi one on the larger av forums and see if that helps your decision making.
