    Hey lads,

I'm going to get a 1070 soon and want to get a new monitor for it. I was thinking of a 1440p, IPS, 144hz monitor but I'm not sure if the 1070 will run that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Considering we have no reliable information other than a synthetic benchmark, hold out for benchmarks. I guess that the 1070 will be fine for 1440p, but not at the levels that the 1080 can do (Ultra and 80+FPS).
    Maybe just get a 1440p 60hz?

Sorry lads I'm actually looking for monitor recommendations, as I'm not sure which one would be the best to go for.

I'm using an overclocked 1440p monitor @ 110hz with an overclocked 970 @ only 1400/6000 and the vast majority of games run sweet on it. Most are on top settings getting around 100fps. The likes of BF4, R6-Siege and Overwatch all average around 100fps on max settings. (With lower levels of AA)

It obviously depends on the game but assuming a 1070 is at least 30% faster than a 970 it should have 0 issues with most and with the overclocking headroom on the new architecture it should be a lot faster than a 970.

Bloodbath filled in the guts of what I didn't have time to earlier about a 1070 like him I'm also on a gtx 970 and a rog swift monitor .

    DELL S2716DG 27

Is a fairly decent 27" 1440p 144hz Gsync monitor. 518 euro on mindfactory without delivery. About 588 amazon.co.uk with delivery.

Whatever you do, do not go with a 1440 60hz ,go with 144hz, you would be better off with a 1080 144hz than that, trust me I have both and 60hz is shockingly slow after experiencing 144hz.

What fps do you get on that monitor with a 970?

Is it able to manage to push high fps on 1440p.

EDIT: Just re-read the post and seen that you are only recommending that monitor and do not actually have one.
