Forward speed with sprayer

    Hello all
I have a bit of ground that I intend to burn off with round up flex but I'm not sure about a couple of things such as the correct forward speed. My sprayer holds 300L so I'm thinking the correct amount of chemical to use is 4.13L/300L of water , the boom width is 25' (7.62M). So can anyone tell me my correct forward speed in kph.

What the country needs is some sort of nationwide compulsory training for people who want to use sprayers, oh wait, don't we have that !!

What's the output of the sprayer? Without that you can't calculate the speed.

Loads of variables.First is "how big is the area to burn off? "
How many litres to the ha. are you going to apply? (Or gallons to the acre)
Is the Speedo on your tractor working?
Between 6 and 10 kph usual for grassland.
There is a formula to calculate forward speed to area covered, I'll have a hunt for it.

Fill tank with water only and time how long it takes to empty at desired rpm. Say 300L takes 10min that's 30L/min. 10,000 square metres is 1 hectare so divided by sprayer width, 7.62m is approximately 1300m length to be covered to spray 1 hectare. Say you want 300l/ha you need to cover 1300m in 10min, 130m/min or 7800m/hr or 7.8 km/hr.
That is the basis of the calculations!

I use an app called lechler. Works for standard nozzles. Different results for different colour nozzles. Compares speed with pressure. I checked the revs required to spray at the pressure I wanted. Measured time to travel 50m in a few gears at that rpm and went from there. Very handy.
