Has anyone seen these ads on tv for a FREE Padraig Pearse medal, I saw it and said ok sounds good, will visit the site and get one of these free medals. Turns out they just keep trying to sell you gold medals, presentation boxes etc, there did not seem to be any option to get my free medal. so its just a scam, it shouldn't be allowed on tv, im sure padraig would find this a fitting way to commemorate his memory and the rising by scamming the vulnerable and gullible.

Shut up and take my money.

On the other side of the coin do you get to see Pearse's gammy eye?

I applied and received a lovely display book with one medal inside absolutely free

There is at least a dozen blank spaces inside for more medals so I think these would cost money

    Apply for free here :

Why are you posting this silly scam warning?

Are you looking for a medal or something?

    Oh you are...

What you need is a good piece of autographed wood. Much more useful than any medal.

i clicked though apart from the 7 or 8 pages you have to click though offering you to buy stuff, you can actually order for free, it says pay postage now or after delivery.

postage is €3.95 wondering how this works....

My mam saw an advertisement on TV and got me to send for one. I didn't pay upfront, thank god, because there was an option to pay later after you receive the medal. It said it would take 28 days. I never received it but I'm not all that bothered about it. I got an email last week asking me for a review of the medal that they sent me but I never got it. I hope they don't start hounding me for a payment of the medal I never received. It wasn't much money but still.

Aren't these usually a subscription service?

You get the first item free, then the following 11 that you weren't even aware of will drop over the next 11 months at full price! :D

I don't see a subscription service here in their terms and conditions.

My dad got one of these for the grandkid, only paid the postage after he got the medal, didnt sign up for any of the other crap, nor did he give over any credit card details, no issue with it other than it being a cheap medal, nice little trinket for the price of a burger.

Won't be getting this nonsense with that 1922 sh!te sprawled all over one side of it. I thought it was for 1916, not celebrating partition?

    http://www.dublinmintoffice.ie/about-dublin-mint-office/
Together with our sister organization’s across Europe and China, we provide a wide range of coins from ancient, to modern, originating from many countries across the world.
If you want a REAL coin try here
    https://www.centralbank.ie/paycurr/collector/Pages/Coinsets.aspx

for €6 you get a mint ( mint as in condition, mint as a real mint ) €2 coin.

Since it's legal tender you are really only spending €4 so it's just 5c more than buying cheap Chinese crap from a UK company.

There was a thread on these a while back. It's worth having a read through before you consider giving this crowd your details:
