signing on for credits

    Hi i hope someone can help please , ive been a stay at home dad for the last 5 years .i didnt realise i should have been signing on for credit so i went in last year and was told since there was a more then two year since i signed for credits i would not be allowed.i would have to get full time employment for six months before i could sign for credits again , but its impossible to do this as ive the kids.... any help would bevery very appricated

    You could ask for it to be backdated on grounds of not knowing but a credit claim also means you have to be available and looking for full time work and from what you have said you arent in a position to take up employment so on the grounds of availability alone you would be disallowed a credit claim.
