I rang HR last week and they said no dates or anything confirmed for next stage. Still sorting through the applications. Could take a while....

That's a bit slower than usual; anyone go for it the last time? Dealing with some of these councils is a job in itself. Galway is by far the worst so far though

Rang them there again.. Still nothing set, still no dates for any further steps. She said it'll be a good while

Yeah I emailed them as well and they weren't very helpful. The hr department probably took the summer off and are emailing from a cruise ship in the Mediterranean. 5 weeks past the closing date

Well 6800 went for DFB so i would imagine your figure is optimistic

Ye definitely, sure 2000 went for cork city last time so I'd imagine waterford would be approx 1500 .

Last recruitment for Waterford attracted 1000 approx. I went for it that time and HR told me this over the phone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28 DeltaDelta

Wow! I thought that DFB would attract a lot more than that. Looks like I was being too optimistic!

Anybody get anything at all yet?? 8 weeks now is it. Anybody who might be in the know?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭DuckyFuzz

Spoke to HR. Apparently we should hear next week and then the testing will be three/four weeks from that time.

Brilliantly, if that is the case and I'm fortunate to make that stagethat's the week I'm on holidays! :(

I asked the kind lady in HR further on in the competition how many applied. She told me.

But what you say is correct.

Rang again today for the craic, as I didn't for the last 6 weeks.

"It'll be three weeks anyway, no date set for the psychometric tests yet"

I'll take that with a pinch of salt even..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 425 ✭✭cookie.monster

to say i'm gutted is and understatment. this is my third attempt in ten years and to miss one simple thing on the form. i must have let it blank coz i have no endorsments as i need my truck licence for my job

Hi slightly off topic but what type licence do u need? Anyone know off hand

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭DuckyFuzz

For the psychometric test? As far as I know just the normal B car licence. Don't think you needed the C or D for this recruitment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭DuckyFuzz

Is anyone surprised that it's taking the full 2 weeks for results 😊

haha exactly what I was thinking.

During my test, they were like "it could take 2 weeks but we should have it to you in 1 week".
Why even bother saying that? :)

Would it be that surprising if it didn't come tomorrow?

Did you know many/any doing it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7 BE_THE_HOKEY

Only Know 2 others wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come tomorrow either! Anyway best of luck everyone I don't think I done well enuf this time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭DuckyFuzz

They came anyway but it just says the numbers, not if you make the next round or when we will find that out...

I did awfully anyway (i think? its kind of hard to judge) so I'm assuming I won't make next round.. Fingers crossed though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7 BE_THE_HOKEY

Just average myself too fingers crossed maybe we'll get another bite @ the cherry.

with the way this campaign is being handled by the HR dept of the council i'm sure they will pick the wrong people and it will be up again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭DuckyFuzz

I thought the psycometric test results would be given with the cutoff for interview - letting you know have you made it that far or not.

Fair enough a date for interview might be difficult to organise but a cutoff so that you know if your in or not surely is just a simple calculation based on the results from the testing company?

Obviously they aren't very comparable but it's already taken longer from application to this far (1 psycometric test) than it did for the entire process - initial application to panel numbers for DFB..

It is understandable I guess when you break it down - probably far less people working on it, smaller council and not as much of a rush on to get people in. It's just being in the dark is a pain..

Realistically, you'd imagine interviews will be after Chistmas if letters don't go out in the next 2 weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭DuckyFuzz

Anybody do an interview last week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,533 ✭✭✭iceage
