Hi all, I'm looking to get extensive dental work done and looking for any recommendations home or abroad. I would prefer to get the work done in Dublin but money is a issue. Thanks in advance.

There is no need to travel there is cheap dentistry available in Ireland that is of similar quality and style as the usual forign clinics that advertise for irish patients.

However not a good idea to travel for extensive treatment. Better have a little work done well than a lot of work done poorly.

Quality will vary from dentist to dentist, you will generally get what you pay for. Reccomendations by PM only please.

ok I've tidied up the thread

    OP back on topic.

First port of a call is to find out what treatment you need.

You can go to a general dentist and get a treatment plan, ask him/her how much of this type of work do they do, if they dont do it often it's worth asking for specialist recommendation

    In short..

Going to NI - on paper cheaper (maybe) but exchange rate and likely multiple visits, time off work etc, and then the distance if something goes wrong/breaks etc is a pain (i speak from experience here) also ask the above questions, dont get a general dentist up there if you wouldnt down here.

Going to eastern europe - Its worth reading the forum for past experiences. Yes it will be cheaper, but you will get a lot of work (some perhaps not needed) done in a short time. It's likely to look good for a period (2-5 years) sometimes more sometimes less however the intense treatment schedule in a short time will cause problems (what type of problems you can see in a forum search)
