Re assessment, Savings V rent allowance?

I went from BTEA to dole this week, I got re assessed, and my savings showed up, so I was cut in half. I am saying I live at home, I just didn't see the hassle of looking for rent allowance and saying I live somewhere else. So few places take rent allowance.
So I'm wondering, if I now say I'm renting, which I have been part 18 months, 450 a month. Would I get the full 188 back?
My place it is just me and the homeowner, I pay cash, she is not registared as landlord and bills are about 100 a month.
    Any advice?
Basically, should I say I rent, can I say that without getting lady I rent off in trouble? How would I prove it. Will I get full dole if I rent?
    Worth seeing citizens advice?
Worth asking to chat with someone in social welfare?
    Any advice welcomed.

450 Euro a month is above the limit that SW allow for rent allowance if you are sharing the property with the Landlord/Landlady so no Rent Allowance.

You can have savings of up to 20,000 on JA without it affecting your claim.

Anything over 5,000 Euro affects a Rent Allowance claim.

Sharing the property is on licence and does not need to be registered.

You wont get full dole if you rent. The amount of rent you pay has no bearing on your means assessment for jobseekers allowance.
