Looks like the Web site lists hundreds of fuel stations and what they don't have. The app looks like it's for use in France giving details of what's available in your locality or within a specific distance, max seems to be 50km, Need to have a French speaker have a detailed look to be sure.

I have downloaded the app and it identifies where I am; too far from any station. Looks like max distance is 50 km.

I take it bringing a jerry can on the ferry is not on?

We're off next week and the campsite is 325 mile drive which is about the range of the tank - a 5 or 10L jerry can would give a bit of peace of mind to reach the destination in one go.

Not too worried about getting back home then :)

I don't know the rules on ferries, but a quality Jerry can of diesel is hardly any more dangerous than your motorhome's plastic fuel tank.

    Petrol, I wouldn't.

Some filling stations are closed. They have the signboards showing prices of €0.00 in red.
Others are giving €20 per car.
    Others will fill up.
I had no problem and filled up twice in past week.
Just have a fill-up before you leave and you will have no trouble.
Www.ukcampsite.co.uk also have info on the fuel situation.

No, neither petrol or diesel jerry can's are permitted, see http://www.irishferries.com/uk-en/faq/prohibited-items/

Reading up on the latest, it seems most stations have fuel - you just might have to queue for 10-15 mins.
