I doubt it. One of the main points they were driving home at the course I did was safely handling and using chemicals. The fact that sales are down is probably a good thing because up to now people were pissing about and using them incorrectly (me included).

I got green cert in 08 which covered me for it and to this day I can't remember doing a sprayer module.

As for scrapping it, not a chance. Look at the money it's spinning. This is a slippery slope now that the FRS is involved. Next will be slurry, then cattle handling. List is endless.

Does the distance green course cover for spraying.

I think they only do the knapsack module.

    http://www.teagasc.ie/training/courses/pesticide-training.asp

click on the past student query form half way down , download, complete, scan and email to teagasc and they can check for you

Distance green cert course doesn't cover you for sprayer course. It covers theory section only, you need to do the practical part using the sprayer seperatly.

Was speaking to my neighbors son today. He is doing the distance Green Cert with Teagasc in Roscommon.

He said the pesticide module only covers knapsack and you do both theory and practical for the knapsack and he will be qualified to use a knapsack to spray once he is finished the green cert.

The boom sprayer module is only done with the full time green cert course.

I done the distance course in 2015 in mullingar. We done both knapsack and boom theory and practical. Was kinda hoping that would cover it. The FRS done that part of the course with us.
