Buying guitar modelling software without proper internet?

    Hi guys!
    I'd like to buy a Line 6 POD Studio UX2 for use at home. The problem is that where I live there's no proper internet. We have no broadband, so I'm limited severely as to what I can download. The UX2 comes with modelling and recording software. Before I buy the unit, I need to know if the accompanying software is included on CD form, or does it need to be downloaded? Is there much content to download? Will it require updates? Can it be run without internet? Does it need to be registered?
    On the website it says "internet connection for online features". How much of the product is dependent on this?
