Just wondering, when weaning, do you wean from the age of the oldest lamb or the youngest, or if there's a big difference do you take the lambs off the ewes at different times to each other?

    Thanks.

We wean at 12- 14 weeks depending on grass supply/quality.
It's a huge help to thrive to have the lambs grazing ahead of the ewes after weaning if your fences are good enough.....much better than the little drop of milk they'd be getting at 12 weeks.
Grass'll be getting stemmy from now on and it destroys lamb thrive to make them eat out the paddocks, whereas the stem is good enough for ewes.
I wean the whole batch together, but would like to have the youngest at least 10 weeks if there was only a few young ones in the batch

I weaned the lambs of the ewes today.

Have a few cull ewes in with them just to keep the lambs quiet.
The lambs can't see their mothers.
