Can I be summonsed?

Okay so I need some help,
The other night I was out on the town, I had been drinking and was definitely intoxicated, I saw a man take my bank card and within a few minutes the club closed so everybody was made exit, at this time everybody was rushing for the door so by the time I got outside it had been a few minutes, at first I walked up to the bouncer of the club to say what happened but he pushed me aside forcibly, I fell to the ground and now have cuts all over my arms and legs, ( now since I was drinking I probably fell a lot easier than a sober person would) after this I went up to a Garda to 1) tell them about the man taking my bank card and 2) about the bouncer using force against me , he refused to take any details/statement and told me to move aside, a second Garda told me if I wanted to make a statement to make my way to the Garda station. so I did, I arrived and wished to make a statement to the gardai, they said I can't do it until I am sober. Fair enough. But being drunk, I asked could I make a statement still, and then make another one the day after when I'm sober. They said no. He then left the room without saying anything else. now at this point I had no money, my bank card was stolen, and no way home as my phone was dead. After shouting for several minutes for a gardai to please come out to me I got no response. At this point I was clearly upset and crying. after about 20-30 minutes a gardai came out and asked why I hadn't left, j explained that I had no money, phone dead and no way home could somebody please give me a lift. Eventually 2 gardai arrived along and drove me home. My question is since I was never arrested/booked, can I be charged or summonsed with anything? I am aware I was drunk but I just wanted to make a statement about my card being robbed and the bouncer being forceful, however I now realise that I was being somewhat unreasonable when he told me to leave I should have. Thanks

No I don't know that, I thought I could be considered drunk and disorderly.

If you still want to make a statement you will have to visit the station anyway and you could thank them for their understanding and for the lift home. I can understand why you were frustrated that night but I can also understand why they wouldn't take a statement.

Do the guards have your name and address?

No legal advice allowed here so this is just a view as if the facts are theoretical.

In theory, the intoxicated person could be charged with an offence(s).
In practice, the probability of being charged approaches the boundary with zero.

If something happened him/her on the way home then all hell would break loose.
This is why the Gardai can't come to your mothers house when there's a robber climbing in her kitchen window.
They have to drive home people who've spent all their money on a night out.

What a bizarre thing to say...

Why do you think it's bizarre? I think it's bizarre to assume that part of AGS. remit is to ferry people home.
I would have assumed that the OP has somebody to come to the Garda Station to collect them?

...and became hysterical and was crying etc people would not judge her as harshly and there would certainly be no move to charge her with anything or arrest her or summons her. The OP was attacked by a bouncer and was robbed had no money, no phone and was in distress. The cops did right by getting him home safely and off the potentially dangerous streets.

If this happens again then I would be inclined to condone the cops for taking sterner action but I assume this was a first time. People do confused and stupid things after drinking but there was no one harmed here except the OP. Bouncers can over react and only that I was blessed with very good advice from my father to treat them very cautiously and with great respect, as one would a dangerous piece of wildlfe, the same fate would probably have befallen on me on my nights out.

You won't be charged, I had something similar happen in my drinking days. Might be worth going to the station to thank/apologize the guards (they probably work the night shift most nights) just for your own conscience since you seem to feel guilty. And maybe just mind yourself a bit more, realize that this kind of stuff doesn't happen to sober people.

Yes you can, but it's highly unlikely.
