Quick question, With all the celestial events over the last year or two, Is it worth getting a entry level telescope if you live in Dublin city?

I can barely see any stars as it is due to light pollution and wonder if that would make a telescope useless.

Im in D7 and use a 150mm scope with good results.

Dont go for the cheap starter scopes. You could also consider a good pair of binoculars

Buy a scope that the budget can afford (and add an extra 50% to match the future :)...see past messages here.No imagination,no financial limits, just pure infinite pleasure when skyes are clear.

Once you have it in your hands, you can join few groups that gather outside the City, mainly Wicklow / Sugarloaf area.
Not sure how it will work in the City and/or what is you budget / targets are.

    Welcome and enjoy it !
