I hurt my back 5 years ago and the doctor prescribed 10 mg Amitriptyline for the pain.

Worked great but had the usual side effects. Sleepy, dry mouth, weight gain and so on.

Now after years of taking it and years of physio in Cappagh Hospital , Its time to let it go.

To be honest I have only been taking it now as I can't sleep without it. Nerve pain has gone due to the excellent care at the hospital. The mechanical back issue is repaired and healed somewhat.

Has anyone else tried to quit it cold turkey? Im on day 3 now and have not really slept more than 3 hours a night since.
