I reckon there would be a lot of hours on any 8360's out there by now. What will you be using it for?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

I have a 7740 but it is a bit small for me I'd be doing bit of ploughing and agitating and spreading slurry and dung will be putting a loader on it aswell

    Brakes are soft in TM's.

8360 is a horrible yoke on the road. Always bouncing. Never had a Tm thank god.

I'd a 155 years ago, good yoke except for brakes...
Do you recalibrate the gearbox regularly?

Never did anything to the gear box. Put a new master cylinder in the clutch a few months back. A new clutch went into it after 12 hours but that was an error in the factory

I used to work for born na mona, I drove lots of 8360s, TM140s and the odd M135 (which is just an 8360 in Fiat colours), and the odd T6070. They seemed to be very good machines, most had over 4k hours when I left, and would have had some "rough" pilots to say the least. We had a mixture of range command and manual gears, range command was much nicer to drive, and never gave us much bother, but it was mainly the "B" gear ratio we used, as we didn't any road work. Like wise I can't comment on the brakes, as they were never on the road. Lots of PTO work in bord na mona, I always thought the 8360 had a little more power at the PTO than the TM140, maybe that was just me. The back end also gets very hot.

One of the local contractors had a fleet of tm's back in the day and he still has two on the turf operation as far as I know. Brakes need maintaining but apart from that he reckoned they were great yokes all were tm140's.
Just some food for thought but a tractor of that size would be rather cumbersome with a loader the 7740's are regarded as a great sought after all purpose tractor. Would you consider an older six cylinder 2wd or 4wd (depending on your ground conditions) for the heavier PTO and field operations and hold onto your 7740 for general work?

It bigger I won't.the 7740 is just to small and week for what I won't and it is far from sweet around the farm very uncomfortable and the sle box is terrible and a disaster on the road bad hydraulic very poor on the shaft and ploughing is more like rooting with it a definite no for the 7740

We have a TM125 from 2007 great machine to say the least its a Classic Gearbox no dual power only issue is the clutch will need changing maybe 3000 to 3500 hours and starter can start tearing a little with dust being brought but in thats not the case with Range Command i believe. Go out and compare a T series to a TM and you will see who's holding their money. We have bought a loader and the only reason we will get it as the 7610 will manage small jobs as they are a brute of a tractor

Contractor I work for has an 8360 since new, it's done everything ploughing power harrowing drawing silage drawing maize slurry work mowing silage, I think there is around 25000 hours and it's still going strong. Will be used to mow this year again, it's been screwed a bit since day one and it to be fair some tractor. Well able for it. If I was looking for a tractor round that size and age I would be slow to look past one.

Yea I would be more for the 8360 than the tm the 8360 just seems to be a real good work horse and will stay going for many years like 25 thousand ours is huge even if I got one with 10 thousand it still has a lot of work left in her

Either would be good you'd have to keep in mind the TM is an ironed out 60 series but many people are happy with them

The one plus with the tm is cab suspension but is it really worth and extra 3 to 4 thousand

Why are the t series not holding the money as well. Is it a case that in a couple of years when they are not made any more lads will want them then or have they a weak spot?

Sull implied above that the tm held the value better than t series unless I picked it up wrong. I was surprised tbh.
