Anywhere between 8-11K. But it'll all depend on what you're trading in against, it's the cost to change you should be looking at.

Does the fact it needs a new diff not lower the value dramatically?

I would have thought it'd be way less, even without the diff issue.

11 would definitely be the upper end of things for a pristine example, maybe a bit optimistic. You reckon less than 8? I did miss the differential issue.

    Yeah, a good bit less.
It's not really a car a main dealer would retail.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. It would get flipped straight over to the portacabin and parking lot crowd for trade money.

    OP, make that 5K!

My mechanic (BMW mechanic) said 8k maybe 9k

It depends on what you're buying and how much discount on the new car can be used to artificially inflate the price they give you on paper for the car.

    Is the diff thing noticeable?

Have you any idea what it'd cost to put right?

What are you looking at buying?

A new one would be 2k. Reconditioned 1k. One from a scrap yard probs 300? Very hard to find one though.

No idea what I'd like tbh....maybe an insignia? 10 or 11

Your best bet is getting the car fixed as cheaply as possible and selling privately.
Fixed, I reckon you'll get back around €7k

    Probably a stupid question but....

    Would a differential off a E92 08 320D fit a E92 08 320I?

You should be able to get a diff from a UK or NI breakers. 3 series aren't rare at all - they outsell Mondeos over there!

Any idea how much one would actually cost?
