Dublin - Park & Ride query

We will be travelling on a weekday to Dublin from Donegal. Can anyone advise on getting to the Grand Canal Square area. Is it straightforward to drive direct and park easily, or would a park & ride be our best option?
    All advice gratefully received.

There is a Q Park right by Bord Gais Theatre, which is in the area you are going to. Best to book in advance. There is a reasonable night rate, don't know if that's what you will need.

Here is info from BG Theatre about getting there.

I suppose park and ride outside the city would depend on whether you are staying over, or driving back same day.

Red Cow p+r to Connolly and then DART. But the Luas is stopping at Jervis soon with bus connections further East soon. So could be a nightmare.

Maybe somewhere on the DART line to park up? The DART stops at Grand Canal Dock.

    Others may have other suggestions.

We are just there for the day. The links are great, thank you very much!

If you are arriving or leaving at peak commuting times(7-9.30am/ 4-7pm) than parking outside the city and using public transport may be a good idea.

If you are driving the N/M3 route then M3 Parkway station has free parking and Docklands station is less than 10 minutes walk across the Liffey to Grand Canal Square. Service is not that frequent though (Hourly off-peak, 1/2 hourly peak) so some planning required.

If you will be travelling outside peak times then driving all the way will probably be the easiest.

There is also Navan Road Parkway station between the N3/M50 Junction and Ashtown which would have more choice of trains than M3 Parkway.
