I submitted my annual accounts to my accountant last month and received my B1 for signature, for various reasons I haven't sent it back to accountant yet, they say the deadline is 23rd May but when I check on CRO site my next ARD is listed as 31 October. So 2 questions; where would they be getting the 23rd May from and how can I get it filed on Monday without penalty, if that is indeed the deadline. I'm not in Dublin.

Looking at the B1 it's says unless this signature page and any attachments are received in the CRO by the following date, the annual return will be deemed never to have been filed: 23 May 16 (is 28 days after the form was electronically submitted)

Can I hand deliver it to Carlow on Monday

Your B1 is late. It was due to be filed by 31 October (2015, I presume), but this presumably didn't happen.

Your accountant has now filed your B1 online, and you have 28 days after that to follow up with the paper documents, or the online filing will be deemed never to have happened. They presumably filed on 27th April (28 days ago)

Yes, you can hand-deliver it to Carlow on Monday. The Dublin office, so far as I know, doesn't accept annual return filings. If you don't get it filed on Monday, your accountant will have to file again, and then you have another 28 days to submit the return - but this will incur extra cost of course.

It was October 16, on the CRO site it says it should be hand delivered to Dublin.

OK, well in that case, it sounds like they've just filed it early to get it out of the way. Your ARD for next year should still be 31/10 (provided they've ticked the box asking for the ARD not to change)

In that case, if you don't file by tomorrow, then your accountant can file again with no penalty for you - but again, it will incur an extra cost to you as they have to do more work.

If Dublin is easier for you than Carlow, maybe give the CRO a ring on Monday morning (8045200) and confirm if they'll accept the filing by hand there - there might be a difference because it's an electronic filing. Some documents have to be filed in Carlow specifically so far as I'm aware.

hi guys, I'm in the same boat - i supplied the annual return online and by post. but didn't include accounts.

I've got an extension sorted out now, but i just want to find out because my company is dormant what accounts i need to supply (haven't traded anything, anybody have an example of what they look like, with any extra comments added, etc. i may need to add?)

and also do i need to redo the annual return again, or just send the old one?
