When will RTE stop promoting boyfolk country music rubbish? This obsession with this awful music angers me to say the least. It seems that every old ex boyband singer who wouldn't know the blues if it jumped up and bit them in their faces who turns their hand to sing so-called country music are assured of RTE exposure. This is totally unfair and it is time that this corrupt scene is exposed. I am tolerant of all forms of music apart from this drivel. Why are RTE giving this rubbish such exposure and they don't give anything else an airing. Mozart, Beethoven, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Sinatra, Elvis, Roy Orbison, Luke Kelly, Phil Lynott, and Rory Gallagher are lucky to be not around to hear this drivel.

Your obsession with it is getting tiresome.

You don't like it, plenty of other people do.

No, because Nathan Carter is far from being the worst. If it was Derek Ryan, I would be that person! Then again, I wouldn't as I wouldn't be the winner!

And plenty hate it. It is awful music. But that is not what makes me most angry. It is just the usual favoritism shown by our media to promote certain people. Plenty with far more talent are not given a chance because they are not in the know. There is way better music out there and that is a fact. There is nothing tiresome about this and I am not obsessed with this drivel. The opposite actually. There is a reason why we didn't win the Eurovision since 1996. No one outside of RTE and their gullible disciples care about Derek Ryan and other such poor fare.

When will you stop starting threads about this? Nobody else actually cares about it. I won't say that your obsession with it is starting to anger me, but it is incredibly irritating.

With the gullible. Most people I know hate this. Anyone who knows Hank Williams' music know damn well this ain't proper country music.

NOBODY CARES ABOUT IT!!! Exactly. Why then do our media promote this junk? No one including me cares about it, it is rubbish.

Personally I despise hip hop and can't understand how anyone can listen to drivel like that. So you know what I do? I ignore it. I certainly don't obsess over it and feel the need to constantly post on the internet about how bad it is because I realise that a lot of other people don't feel the same as me and everyone's entitled to like whatever they want. If I want to post about music I'll post about music I like, I find that things are far simpler and more pleasant that way.

Ok enough with the soapboxing. Builderplumber - RTE cover a lot of country music because there is a market for it. It's not my cup of tea but my granny, my mother in law and their friends are big fans of it. If you don't like it then change the channel.
