Bad contract offer?

    Hello,

I recently got a job offered and the longer I'm thinking about it the more unappealing it is.

But let's start from the beginning on:
I applied for a job at a well-known company. Just after 2 days I got a call back from a recruiter of this company. He told me with my experience they'd have several opportunities for me. After the weekend we had a second call and he told me that the job I first applied for is already taken but there is another one that pays slightly better and sounded more attractive in general and he'd like to invite me to an interview for this role.
So far, so good. I had the interview, it all worked quite well and just in the end I asked the interviewer several questions about healthcare, salary (because it wasn't mentioned) and he told me I have to ask my recruiter, he can provide me these details.

Two days later I had to undergo a language test (I'm native german speaker) and after the weekend the recruiter called me again and offered me the position. I was incredibly delighted and happy first but then he mentioned something that slightly bothered me: I'm working as a contractor for a pretty big recruitment company (again I have to mention: I applied and went through the whole process only with the company). The contract is for twelve months, salary is XXX p/a, no healthcare scheme because they don't offer that but someone of the recruitment agency will get in touch with me soon.

And this happened today. Got an email, called the lady back and we made an appointment, she sent me all the details as mail. I read the terms of agreement and now I'm absolutely shocked. First, I officially have nothing to do with the company I originally applied for beside that my team manager would work for them. Second there are ridiculous clauses in there. Also instead of a annual salary they pay me a quite meh salary PER HOUR. I did the maths and found out that my annual salary with the recruitment agency is quite a bit lower than the company originally offered.

I all comes together. My interviewer would be my future team leader and obviously he knew about that and dodged my questions. The description never mentioned a 12 months contract, instead it said it's a permanent position. It also never mentioned a recruitment agency or anything because I tactically avoid them. Nobody mentioned anything unless I got the job offered and even the lady on the phone today asked me if they told me that I'd be officially employed with them.
All of this sounds so dodgy to me and my partner and I don't wanna end up working very long hours not being able to see my kid for a meh salary.
I'm just disappointed that there was so much dishonesty involved in this.

I'm consulting one of my in-laws tomorrow, he's working in a job center and it also bothered him straight away that they didn't mention this in the interview.
As it stands right now I'd turn this offer down because it worries me that this employment starts out like this... I wouldn't know what comes next.

Any opinions on that? I really don't know what to do right now.

(Sorry if there are any mistakes or so, I'm tired and my thoughts are just focused on that, I just can't sleep)

I had the same thing kinda happen to me with the last role I went for. The recruiter promised the world on the phone. When the offer came through after 2 interviews and a day trial it was a day rate ( about half of what I was expecting) No holiday & not even a guarantee of a 5 day week.

I politely declined their job and they countered with an extra 10er on the day rate which resulted in another decline.

In your case, I would bring it up. Get what you want or walk away. At the end of the day its going to be your life and if that means walking away don't be afraid to.

If the deal is completely different from what was initially offered, then what else are they inclined to lie about or do? I, personally, would walk away from the job and not take it.
