I've been waiting for a re-appearance from Mainstream since it ran a few weeks ago. A little surprised to see it out so soon. I can only assume to take it that the horse came home well and is raring to go again. It was hopelessly green last time out, dwelling, yet it still managed to show a nice turn of foot to win handily. I think there is enough improvement to come from this nice bre colt to beat the favourite in the 1:55 at 2/1.

Would you think taking 3.65 now on bet fair is a good price ?

Money for the fav tonight so not so sure Francie, I actually fancy red verion as mainstream has to cope with the step up in class, have doubled with don't touch at the curragh, both 11/8 shorties but I like them.

FranklinD 11/1 5.15 Newmarket. He should improve away from the tight Lingfield as he is a big long striding horse.Velveteen 9/4 ran a blinder from stall 1 at Leopardstown and will improve big time.Hit the Bid 25/1 4.30 Curragh.Has a lot to do but obviously has ability backed first time out 40/1-4/1 and ran well for a long way before he got tired and Smullen booked in this hot listed race.Moonmeister 8/1 is fancied but no more rain for this son of the cracking Moon Unit.Dinneratmidnight 25/1 4.45 Haydock.Forget last run and his form stands up and the more rain the better.

Master Speaker in the Curragh Sprint

Bolger's Sanus Per Aquam, each way in the 2000 Guineas (Despite my reservations about War Fronts at 3 and lack of shock AFB didn't win the last day, I think Air Force Blue can win this, so long as the tongue strap is off, Curragh is a fairer spot than Newmarket)

Hopeful on Fort Delo Oro in the Group 2 Sprint

Muthmir for the Haydock Temple Stakes

Haines, a tiny each way in the Haydock 2 mile race and a each way for Venue in the same race (better jockey on board, had won at this track years ago)

    Aeolus 25-1 4.10

I think Aeolus is a nice price on the back of two really good runs this year. Ran on last time in a competitive race over this distance to take 6th , 1.5 lengths off winner .
I think it should do better here in what's a smaller field with more room to avoid trouble.

    2pts ew 25-1

    Bravery e/w (50/1) in the Guineas (5:40). Ainippe (11/2) in the 6:15.

King's Socks e/w (25/1) in the 2:45 at Auteuil and Bosseur e/w (40/1) in the Prix la Barka at Auteuil (3:55).

Venue pulled for over a mile and a half in the 2 mile race at Haydock. Jesus why didn't Hanagan just let him go. That horse was trained to front run when he was with Cecil's . he is use to this distance by now

Even though it was beat last time out, I was very impressed with Exaggerator coming from the back to make up ground on Nyquist. The two do battle in the 11:45 at Pimlico tonight and I am inclined to think there is slight value on the 2nd favourite at 4/1.

Continuous rain has changed the ground to yielding at the Curragh so plenty of fancied horses that needed the overnight forecast of good to firm are in big trouble.Hit the Bid,Velveteen,Moonmeister all my fancies for today are in trouble.Add to that list all American breds and dodgy Stayer like Ainippe.Bubbly Bellini 16/1 will love the ground and will be staying on better than most.

Did Shogun at 33/1 ew this morning before the rain came and messed up his chance, thought he'd be staying on through beaten horses.

Evanescent 7:20 Chepstow. Think it's well treated for this race but ground maybe a concern. 15/2.
Bit of money for it too

Cameras go on course. One horse is in the stalls. Mick pronounces that we're ready for the off. Needless to say, the horse that is in the stalls gets pulled out, we have a five minute delay until the race actually goes off. He's that bad that you actually wonder how he was once a useful rider.

O Brien hyping up Air Force Blue pre race, then he turns in a disastrous performance. Why cant some reporter get his opinion after the race??

I didn't hear him hyping up the horse at all. If anything, he was saying the opposite.

Hyping up the horse? He said something along the lines of it would take a miracle for him to win over that trip on that ground and he'd likely be going sprinting soon.

What he said was far far far away from hyping him!

He said , to ATR that the ground would not suit, but he would give him ago. He said that he probably knows that it is the wrong thing to do

    Boom

Some reason I backed the Coolmore lad (just bought, don't you just love when owners jump the bandwagon before a big race) It looked like all the rest of the jockeys were in on making sure the Kentucky winner went no where, still ran brilliantly though. Good awful weather there.

A bit late now, but Hugh Taylor did it again, he fancied today's 1000G winner. Minding did nothing really wrong. Ryan Moore on seconditis again. If Joseph was ridding he would get tonnes of abuse (to be fair , I am not sure Minding was suppose to run today, and Guineas Doubles are NOT easy)

I am confused as to why Dermott Weld did not run Discipline for the 1000G, granted she was fortunate to come second by a head against Boccia Bacita (Harrington's horse) bearing in mind the weight advantage and Colm O'Donoghue doing everything to loose, she would have liked the ground today (maybe she didn't have a rating by that point?)

What is it with American racing and not being able to judge the pace of a race? It's embarrassing the way some of them tear off.

And they claim (and self claim) that the American jockeys are the best in the world. Bar Gary Stevens and maybe Mike Smith, that is laughable. They often get found out when the make their rare adventure to Dubai, Hong Kong, Europe. If there is a race over 4f and to be run in a straight line, forget it
