VW Passat help needed [key fob]

    Key fob won't go into ignition and when it does it sometimes gets stuck when turning off the engine. At the moment it's stuck outside blocking my driveway key won't go in and it's an electric handbrake so I'm having trouble taking it off.

    Anyone know how I can get the key in to start and move it or take off the handbrake without starting the engine?

    Foot on the brake pedal, press the electric handbrake button. Should release it.
