Council Tree & Driveway Construction

    Hi,

I bought a property knowing there was a council tree in an awkward position in front of the house. I can park my car on the road just in front of said tree, but this is an issue as passing traffic needs to move into the oncoming lane to bypass my vehicle. Many of my neighbours without driveways or with two cars do this too, however the council trees near their homes are better placed, meaning their cars can be placed on the footpath allowing more room on the road.

I've looked into the possibility of getting a driveway, however I've been advised that due to the tree's position, manoeuvring in and out of the driveway could be awkward and possibly prove dangerous.

There's no other parking options in the area.

Does anyone know if the council would remove this tree under these circumstances?

Apologies Mod, if this should have been posted in the Building Regulations & Legislation forum.

    Thanks

Can't see them destroying a tree tbh
Where are you based as the different LA's have different rules.
Would you be prepared to pay the costs associated with removing and replanting it?
