    Hey all,

    Two quick ones for you:

    1. Are all airside operations conducted through English as the towers use it or would there be bilingual setups?

    2. Passing through security this morning the man behind me set off the detector and thus was swabbed around his hands for what I assume is an explosives test. They didn't send him back through though? Whats the logic here, surely he could pass through with a compact firearm assuming it was sterilized?

    Cheers,
    ED.

    1.
ATC service is in English, but if a Air France plane calls ATC in France service will likely be in French

    2.
The metal detectors have three indications, travel often enough you get to know the different tone it makes
    1. Clear
    2. Stop
    3. Random stop

Depending on the mood of the week, it will be a hand swab or pat down for a random stop

Ahh so its just a much more sensible implementation of the TSAs $1.4M random checks app. That makes more sense. Cheers.
