The channel will be free to view not FTA ;)

For the match itself they will have a radio-style commentary and they have club-focussed pre- and post- match punditry as well as half-time analysis.

Chelsea TV was 'in the clear' yesterday for me. BTW BBC 1 are covering FA Cup Final FTA.

BTW BBC 1 are covering FA Cup Final FTA.

I'd imagine everybody is aware of that.

TV3 are covering it FTA too of course, not to mention Eurosport 1 Deutschland.

This thread was specifically about MUTV's coverage tomorrow:-
MUTV's exclusive programmes on FA Cup final day - Saturday 21 May - will be free to view for Sky TV customers, enabling thousands more fans to easily enjoy the official channel's expert and partisan coverage for the biggest match of the season.

Live broadcasts from Wembley Stadium will include Cup Final Breakfast (09:00), Match Day Preview (12:00), Match Day Live (16:00 pre-match, 19:20 post-match) and The Half-Time Show (18:15), while the showpiece game against Crystal Palace itself will be covered with audio commentary from 17:30 BST.

Fans will also be able to relive eight of the club's 11 FA Cup triumphs with the finals of 1963, 1977, 1983, 1985, 1990, 1994, 1999 and 2004 all being screened, as well as the semi-final triumph over Everton which will kick off the free viewing period on Sky that runs from 05:00 to midnight BST on Saturday.

MUTV will have four FA Cup winners in its squad of presenters, pundits and reporters at Wembley with Paddy Crerand, Lou Macari, Lee Martin and former manager Ron Atkinson working alongside Jim Rosenthal, Hannah East, Stewart Gardner, David Stowell and Mark Sullivan.

On another note shouldn't the misleading thread title be changed so as not to confuse people?

Ah, we have another grammar nazi. I think everyone knows what the OP meant

Contact the forum mods then and leave out the back seat modding.

    .

Now THAT'S funny. There's a pretty huge difference between Free to View and FTA (as reflected in the OP since editing his original post).
Giving the frequency only makes sense if the channel was to be FTA; there is however no point as it will only be FTV and is already available in the only place where that will be the case - on the Sky EPG.

I suggest it might have been an idea to familiarise yourself with the difference before launching an attack.

I always love the lack of self awareness when somebody does some backseat modding in order to bitch at others to stop the backseat modding. I'm not sure why you didn't follow your own advice and contact the forum mods - or is it OK for you to backseat mod but not me?

I made a suggestion to change the thread because if anybody thought the channel was FTA they'd be pretty disappointed to find out that they will need a Sky receiver and an active card in order to access it. As I said the OP has himself decided not to get as offended as you seem to have and gone ahead and done it anyway.

As the only place the channel will be available is via a Sky receiver you will find the channel already on your EPG :)

He's the main commentator and yes he has. The channel can only be subscribed to once you have a Sky package. It would make no sense to open it up to a FTA audience.

During their very frequent open periods it has indeed only ever been available to Sky viewers. Stewart (and others at the channel) regularly announce it as FTA at these times.

Indeed, a couple of season's ago they opened it up before every match for their build-up coverage in order to try and attract subscribers. It usually opens on Munich Day as well.

I did post manutd.com's announcement in an earlier post btw. I just checked back and I apologise for not mentioning at that time that it was from the club themselves. :)

Stewart's tweet and club website announcement - not to mention the "grammar nazi" personal attack above - highlight the general public's confusion surrounding the FTA and FTV terms. However, as this is a broadcast forum I would guess most users are aware of the difference which is why I advised about changing the thread title.
