    Hi Folks.

Is it easy to bridge one of these modems. Not much documentation on the internet for this modem.

Can't be done. It used to be possible to bridge older boxes (7140 and 7270) but the newer ones can't.

    oh bollocks

I need the modem to bridge to a firewall.

Could I get a third party modem and just use that and then I should beable to bridge that.

I was thinking of a TP-LINK TD-8817 ADSL2+ Ethernet/USB Modem Router but unsure would that work?

It its a fibre connection used with the Fritz

I assume you got the 7360 from Digiweb?

You can use a third party modem. Since you'll be bridging it anyway, my recommendation would be to pick up a second-hand Eircom F1000 - CEX often sell them for only €12. That way you'll know you're getting a modem that ticks all the boxes.

The TP-LINK you quoted will not work because it's an ADSL2 modem. You need VDSL with vectoring support.

Yeah, I used to work for a company which resold Fritz boxes and we also recently had a client in the same situation. We ended up swapping it with an F1000/Sonicwall combo because we couldn't bridge the 7360.

But if Digiweb give you a way I'll be very curious to know! :)

    Let see what Digiweb say.

    Btw would a F2000 work instead of a F1000?

Yep, works fine. :) Just to note that when bridging the F2000, the modem has to be in situ and synced up to the cab. It doesn't let you do it when the DSL is down.

Just getting back to this, version 06.52 of the firmware has been released and supports PPPoE passthrough. While it's not a true bridge mode, it might be useful to get a public IP fed to the downstream router.

Doesn't seem to be out for the 7360 yet but probably won't be too long.

I spoke with Digiweb tech support today with that exact question.
They said it could be done but it would invalidate the warranty.
They mentioned changes to the config file was the way to do it, but He mentioned it wasn't easy.

Did you have any joy Headshot
