    Hi all,
About 18 months ago I was involved in a minor collision. It has taken this long to get to it as the other party refused to give details. Anyway that's not the point. A few months later I had nct on my car and have since sold the car.
I now need nct cert to give to insurance company. When car was sold the cert went with it as it wasn't up so I no longer have it.
To get to the point can I ring them and request a copy of cert for my insurance company even though I no longer have car?
    Many thanks.

I think you might have issues around data protection where they won't give them out for a car you no longer own. I know if you do a car history check on the likes of Cartell.ie that will show the dates the car had valid NCT for, this should be fine for them.

Would they not be looking for something that showed the car was NCTd at the time of the accident?

Whoever is current owner of the car can request it, is the insurance company now the registered owner, surely they should do it if that's the case? Are they looking for it to prove it was roadworthy in which case the cartell report should be fine or to assist them in selling it they should apply themselves...
To replace a certificate or disc, go to your local Garda station and obtain an RF134 form, which must be stamped and signed by the Gardaí. Send this completed form back, along with either your windscreen disc or NCT certificate, whichever you may still hold, and a bank draft or postal order for €15.50 payable to Applus Car Testing Service Ltd, to: The Test Certificate Administrator, NCTS, Lake Drive 3026, Citywest Business Campus, Naas Road, Dublin 24.

For a replacement NCT report, simply send your request to the Test Certificate Administrator at the above address, quoting the car registration number, make, model and owner details along with the fee of €15.50. These fees may be subject to change.

I don't want to get into it too much as it's ongoing but basically the other party are now claiming there is damage done to car that couldn't be without it damaging my car, there was no damage to my car as it didn't happen the way they claim. The insurance company said with the nct cert they can use this as proof in my case that my car passed no problem with no damage.

I don't see how passing an nct would mean the car wasn't damaged, you could have fixed it the next day.
A paid report from Motorcheck would show the nct dates I think.
