A few days ago I visited an orthodontist for a consultation regarding teeth straightening/alignment. I've already had braces as a teen so there is a already an element of straightness there - I just want to get my teeth that have moved tidied up a little.

I was told I would need a year of treatment, and have a choice of any type of brace - the only issue is the cost just seems a little high considering it's only a year. I was quoted just under 5000 for Invisalign and 4500 for clear braces. Top and bottom.

I would prefer to use a proper orthodontist, so am willing the pay a good price, but at the time time I don't want to be paying way over the odds for a shorter treatment.

Anyone got any thoughts? While we're at it, anyone have experience of clear braces vs Invisalign? The main thing I'm worried about with Invisalign is the impact on my speech.

Today have just got aligners. Well the top one anyway. There was an issue with the bottom one so they gave me a temp one as they had already put the ceramic pieces on my teeth.
