08 2.2 diesel Accord issues

I had finally decided on a car to buy, 08 2.2 diesel Accord. I was talking to my mechanic today and he said to walk away from them, telling me about manifold issues. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is the 08 model affected? Cheers for the help everyone.

Not affected. I think it was pre 06 models but definitely fixed with an 08 model.

I picked up a 08 2.2 Exec in the UK back in 2010 with 25k miles on the clock. There's 120k on it now and bar the odd headlight bulb blowing I haven't had any issues with it. A little thirsty would be my only complaint.

Picked up a 05, 8 yrs ago. Its gone over 300k now. Never missed a beat. Manifold & chain done under warranty thats all. Clutch done two yrs ago. Most reliable car we've had.
